Watson's 'journey continues'

When you share DNA with eminent artists, Barrington and Basil Watson, people expect your exhibition to be of the highest quality.

And that's what Raymond Watson, son and brother, respectively, of the noted gentlemen mentioned above delivered on Tuesday at the opening of his new exhibition, 'The Journey Continues'. The exhibition is at The Devonshire, Devon House, and is a collection of drawings, paintings and sculptures.

MC Fae Ellington, a long-time friend of Watson, said with the global economic climate being what it is, customers of art will have to be more frugal with their money. As a result, she encouraged artists to think outside the box to get their works sold, but also pleaded with the Government and private sector to support the arts and the artists as "this is how they make their living".

The only downside is that the exhibition will only be open at this space until Sunday. But Ellington gave the artist suggestions as to possible locations. Of course, the dreadlocked Watson is a man of few words (his hands do the talking). All he did was thank guests for going and invite them to enjoy the show.

What should we look at next? Shelley-Ann McFarlane (left) and Charl Baker check out the catalogue of work by Raymond Watson.
