New boss for Rose Hall Developments

Wyley Sweeney

Rose Hall Developments Limited, (RHDL) a real estate and property management company domiciled in Montego Bay, has announced the appointment of a new president, Wyley H. Sweeney.

He replaces Peter Williams, whom the company said has quit after three years and is rejoining his family in the United States.

Sweeney brings 40 years of experience in management and aviation to the job, RHDL said in a statement.

His track record includes "cargo handling, transportation safety, union contract negotiations, flight operations and customer engagements with Air Jamaica and other aviation-related entities".

Rose Hall Development operates companies that build and manage tourism properties, infrastructure and attractions.

"These currently include potable water, a waste water utility and a commercial nursery for the Rose Hall area," the company said.

Attractions assets in its portfolio are the Rose Hall Great House, the Cinnamon Hill Great House, Cinnamon Hill Golf Course and a canopy tour.

First Global recruits customer experience, operations execs

( L - R ) Tricia Martin, Kerry O'Sullivan

First Global (FG) Holdings Limited has added two executives to its line-up, one of whom will have the portfolio of 'customer experience'.

That job goes to Assistant Vice-president Tricia Martin whose track record includes similar portfolios with Citigroup and American Express.

At First Global, she will be responsible for devising strategies "aimed at realising First Global's objective of delivering superior customer service as well as championing the importance of the service delivery function to ensure that customer loyalty becomes a business priority at all levels within the organisation."

She will also oversee the financial company's customer centre. Her appointment took effect September 7.

Three weeks later, on September 28, Kerry O'Sullivan also joined First Global as senior vice-president of group operations.

O'Sullivan has worked for 40 years in banking and held a number of positions at National Commercial Bank spanning operations, personnel management and administration.

Her last position with the NCB was senior assistant general manager of network operations, from January 2003 to January 2009.

O'Sullivan's new boss at First Global, Courtney Campbell, was also a senior executive of NCB at the time of his recruitment by GraceKennedy Limited, which owns the First Global family of companies.

Campbell is CEO of First Global Holdings and First Global Financial Group, but he also holds the more powerful position as CEO of GK Investments - the division that produces some 80 per cent of GraceKennedy's profit.

O'Sullivan and Martin join First Global in a period of transformation for its small commercial bank which is No. 5 in a sector of seven, following the departure of four senior managers and president in the wake of a US$19-million bond-trading loss.

FG Holdings is parent company of First Global Bank and First Global Financial Services.
