With regard to the column by Rev Devon Dick concerning speaking in tongues, I do agree with Rev Jennings to an extent that the tongues spoken in the book of Acts and the tongues spoken in Corinth were different, but only to the extent that in Acts the tongues were understood clearly by the hearer but not necessarily by the speaker who never learned the language.
In Corinth, however, it is logical to assume that the speaker did know this tongue as would the interpreter. If he failed to identify an interpreter who knew his language well enough to interpret, then instead of speaking what would seem like foolishness to a passer-by, he should sit down and speak to himself and to God, edifying himself, as he, the speaker, was fully aware of the meaning of the tongue which he spoke.
I am, etc.,
