No defection

1. Some dubbed it breaking news, others are saying it's a part of the JLP strategy of disinformation before the by-election in Portland. But all the talk over the weekend was about the rumoured defection of one senior PNP official and MP from the PNP to the JLP. His friends and party insiders say otherwise, though.

Recession meal

2. Some customers at one leading restaurant, who have been complaining for quite some time now that the establishment has significantly reduced the portions, got some very boisterous support recently, when one customer, who was so offended by the small portions and exorbitant prices, created quite a scene. After his departure a few more complaints followed and this was met with additional portions being offered to appease the growing sense of unease.

No signs of distress

3. The wife and children are here surviving by the mercy and grace of family and friends, but the missus, who they said was the one who made off with the millions, and the hubby are living happily ever after in foreign lands, and no signs of financial distress there!

Is it a sham?

4. Her elevation has so angered some, they are now releasing private correspondence showing what they claim to be the sham she calls a business. All eyes are on the regulators, as they say this is a test case that could have long-term implications.

Hunting funds

5. Concern is growing that the by-election won't be a shoo-in for the sitting MP, so they are pulling out all the stops, including some last-minute efforts to raise funds.

On the warpath

6. Don't expect some of those missing in action back home any time soon, as their former clients/club members are now on the warpath, angered by news of just how high some have been living.

Empty boasts

7. Industry insiders are saying all the talk about increases in visitor arrivals are really empty boasts.

Why the fuss?

8. If they have nothing to hide, then why object to being searched? Is it that they believe the law does not apply to them?
