Womanbition!

Queen Ifrica

Womanbition, an all-female showcase in commemoration of International Women's Day, will be held on Sunday at Star Apples' Gardens, 94 Hope Road, beginning at 5 p.m.

The organisers describe Womanbition as "a celebration of positive women creating empowerment though artistic and motivational expressions".

Some of the artistes scheduled to perform are Tanya Stephens, Pam Hall, Queen Ifrica, Empress, Keteis Oyonde, Nelly Stharre, Sharon Tucker, Empress Cadia, Sensi Love and Empress Lava.

Isis Tafari of Roots FM will be the MC. Admission is free.


JCDC extends deadline

The Jamaica Cultural Development Commission (JCDC) has extended the deadline for the submission of entries for the 2009 Jamaica Festival Song Competition. Entries are now being accepted at JCDC parish offices until Friday, March 13. Entry forms are also available online at www.jcdc.org.jm.
