Father, son gunned down
Forty-three-year-old George Smillie and his son Winston, 17, were shot and killed by unknown assailants at their home at Long Wall district, Stony Hill, St Andrew, yesterday. The house was then set ablaze.

Reports from the Constabulary Communication Network are that about 5:45 a.m. the two were at home when a group of men armed with guns invaded the premises.

The men immediately opened fire, hitting George.

Winston, in a bid to escape, ran from the house and was shot several times by the gunmen.

The hoodlums then set their victims' house ablaze. The police and the fire brigade were alerted. The fire was extinguished and the bodies removed to the morgue for post-mortem.

Loss is estimated at $2 million. The house was not insured.

The Stony Hill police are investigating.
