I write to endorse statements made be Rennay Moore in her letter to The Gleaner of July 3 'Parents should give support'. While parents are the major stakeholders in education, and are expected to keep close check on their children throughout the school years, the contrast is that some of them are only seen twice between grades one and five and once before the children actually sit GSAT or thereafter. This is not good enough!
Some of these parents should be chided by the school's administration for the poor investment in those that they are responsible for. To me, this is a high form of neglect that is being practised everywhere.
I am, etc.,
