Ying backs formation of skill bank
Director-designate of the Jamaica Diaspora Institute, Professor Neville Ying, has backed the establishment of a skill bank to allow for the development of a more dynamic relationship within the island's diaspora communities.

Ying, who is in the United Kingdom meeting with mem-bers of the Jamaican diaspora in London and Birmingham, told a round-table discussion in London that a major function of the institute would be working with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade to develop appropriate research and giving support to diaspora conferences.

He informed the meeting that the legal work to establish the Jamaica Diaspora Foundation and the institute was almost completed.
