Michael McLean, Gleaner Writer

Mid-season runners-up Leeds United will take a 1-0 lead over Middle Quarters Police Youth Club going into the second leg semi-final of the 2008-2009 St Elizabeth Wray and Nephew Major League at New Town in Black River today.

In the other semi-final matchup, New Holland and Super Action who drew 1-1 in the first leg will face off at Braes River. Match time for both matches is 3 p.m.

Come-from-behind win

In the first leg on Thursday, the Semore Martin-coached Leeds team, who came from behind to earn a 3-2 aggregate win over the hard-running Braes River over a week ago, grabbed the lead courtesy of a Kirk Wright strike in the 40th minute from close range, while Derval Thompson scored for New Holland in the 4th minute and Kemar Barrett got the equaliser for Super Action in the 67th minute.
