Staying fresh, innovative and unique comes easily for the pioneering team that owns the entertainment scene on Montego Bay's Hip Strip, Blue Beat by the Sea.

Unquestionably the stars on the block, they now have party people hungry for an invitation to their exclusive The Guest List affair. "There is no charge, but if your name does not make it on the guest list, you won't be allowed entrance," Margaritaville Caribbean's André 'Pnut' Brown told Outlook Magazine as he checked those whose names appeared on his clipboard on Saturday, March 21.

After only two weeks on the strip, The Guest List is causing quite a stir, particularly among those singled out as VIPS, regulars, members only and the elite.

Even the menu designed by Scott Robbins caters to their needs. From lobster pop tart for VIPS, Blue Beat Magic of coconut and dark rum for regulars, to Hennessey for members only, topped by Moet Imperial and Dom Perignon for the elite, the Island Entertainment brand has found a winner this time around.

And The Guest List is just one of the many themed events that Blue Beat has unveiled since the start of the year.

A monthly comedy night, the quarterly Blue Beat Unplugged - an all-inclusive food and beverage affair which pays tribute to local talents in an intimate arena seaside setting - are complemented by a sizzling hot Latin party on Fridays, where Latinos come out for salsa, meringue and Rumba.

On Saturdays, Ian Dear, head of the clan, plays host to the hot new Guest List, styled to impress those familiar with south beach.

Is Montego Bay the place to be or what?
