LETTER OF THE DAY - Cricketing fiasco
The Editor, Sir: After Friday's farce at the Sir Vivian Richards Cricket Ground in Antigua with the abandonment of the second Test, there must be absolutely no hesitation by the West Indies Board of Control in firing Dr Donald Peters, the chief executive officer, and Dr Julian Hunte, the president at the West Indies Cricket Board.

Professor Charles Denbow - a great loss
The Editor, Sir: I would like to use this medium to express my sadness regarding the passing of Professor Charles Denbow on February 10. Professor Denbow epitomised the integrity, character and personality that all medical professionals and Jamaicans, in general, should seek to emulate.

ICC was also negligent
The Editor, Sir:

It is no use the International Cricket Council (ICC) ban the Sir Vivian Cricket Ground when the ICC was negligent also. Whenever there is a major event, be it football or the Olympics, you would find those bodies inspecting the venues repeatedly to make sure that the venue is fit.

Moderation in all things
The Editor, Sir: Heartiest congratulations to the Broadcasting Commission on the stand you have taken against lewd and violent lyrics being propagated through the media.
