ICC was also negligent
The Editor, Sir:

It is no use the International Cricket Council (ICC) ban the Sir Vivian Cricket Ground when the ICC was negligent also.

Whenever there is a major event, be it football or the Olympics, you would find those bodies inspecting the venues repeatedly to make sure that the venue is fit. What did the ICC do in the run-up to this Test series, especially following the shame of Sabina Park in 1998 and the final of the World Cup? Both were disastrous, embarrassing and shambolic.

Not inspecting facilities

I venture to add that the WICB and the Antiguan Cricket Board are also negligent in not inspecting the facilities before this debacle.

The WICB is run by lazy people and this is transmitted to the players, whose only objectives is money, money and more money. They don't want to work at their game, thinking that they are beneath practising.

Who do they think they are to ruin our game?

I am, etc.,
