Kingston College (KC) will be looking to make off with all three points when they travel to Tinson Pen to play Group C leaders Norman Manley in their ISSA/Pepsi/Digicel Manning Cup match this afternoon. The match is slated to start at 3:30 p.m.
KC will be looking to follow up on impressive wins in their last two group matches, when they defeated Haile Selassie 7-0 and fierce rivals St Jago 4-0.
Norman Manley currently lead the group with 24 points, followed by KC on 19, while St Jago lie third on 16. Norman Manley will enter the match seeking to rebound from two surprise draws.
Going all out
KC's coach, Wayne Fairclough, said: "We will not be taking this game lightly. this will be played as a final."
KC will once again be looking to Prince Samuels, who scored a hat-trick in their last game, to lead them to victory.
"We will be pulling out all the stops to see our way into the next round. Our ambition is to qualify for all the titles at stake so we will be going all out to qualify for the Walker Cup,"
Despite Norman Manley drawing their last two games, the team's manager, Paul Hall, believes they are still playing good football.
"For us, it is really a psychological thing. We are playing the better ball but we need goals to win," Hall said.
Manley's coach, Miguel Coley, has not been with the team since Wednesday last week, as he had to undergo surgery.
"It is prestigious to make it to the Walker Cup final, so finishing second is out of the question," Hall said. "I am not overly concerned about KC. we expect a challenge and we will be ready for it," Hall added.
