Miss T's Kitchen - Dining ina tropical paradise

A mere five months after opening its doors, Miss T's Kitchen has earned the reputation of being a pleasant place to dine despite being located in hectic Ocho Rios, St Ann.

Located at 65 Main Street, a few metres from the parish clock, the eatery offers a relaxing atmosphere, reminiscent of old Jamaica charm, with the most delicious food.

Ackee and salt fish, roast breadfruit, curried goat, jerked chicken, pork, oxtail and escoveitched and steamed fish are on the menu.

"But you can also get run down shrimp pasta, which is a speciality; chicken breast stuffed with cheese; we try everything Jamaican then we have (food) with a little more flair but also with a Jamaican touch. It's great food, great service and a wonderful ambience," says owner Anna-Kay Tomlinson.

A scrumptious feast

People love the food as much as they love the reasonable prices. Meals are prepared and served by the eight members of staff.

Tomlinson's response to the Gleaner-sponsored Restaurant Week coming to Ocho Rios: "Yippeeeee!"

For the week, customers can look forward to a scrumptious feast.

"We are very proud of our salt fish and mango salsa served over our own crispy plantain chips," she said.

Other appetisers on the menu for the week are passa passa bisque and back-a-yard salad.

Entrées include run down shrimp pasta, oxtail gone gourmet, 'sell-off' honey crispy chicken, and dreddie veggie terrine.

For dessert, there are: ole time duckunoo, kiss mi granny rum cake, to di world bread pudding.
