Good food and good service come immediately to mind when one thinks of Spring Garden Café and Seafood Grill, located in Ocho Rios, St Ann.

Since its opening in December 2001, Spring Garden has carefully built a reputation as a top-class restaurant. Today, word on the street is that it is the best seafood restaurant in Ocho Rios. The service is also very good.

"We serve a very good pineapple curried fish and, notwithstanding the seafood label, we also serve a very, very, very good steak," says manager Shorna Taylor. Chicken is also available on the menu.

"All our dishes are special," Taylor adds.

So true is this, their customer base now includes Jamaicans and foreigners, with visitors coming in from hotels along Jamaica's north coast and cruise ships.

Situated away from the congestion of the town along the Ocho Rios bypass, Spring Garden Café and Seafood Grill offers adequate parking space for customers.

Sweet offerings

The ambience complements the tasty dishes on the menu.

The staff of 18 promises to take their usually excellent service to an even higher level during the Gleaner-sponsored Restaurant Week.

Offerings include golden calamari and fresh shrimp cocktail and a shrimp Parmesan entrée. The alternative is whole red snapper, which can be had either escoveitched, steamed, brown-stewed or jerked, served with baked potato and white rice.

Dessert is everybody's favourite - sweet potato pudding served with ginger rum sauce.

"Our staff is very friendly. They know their work, they know about service and they take great pride in what they do. We have the best bunch here!" boasts Taylor.

Spring Garden also hosts special functions such as wedding receptions, anniversaries, birthdays.
