Three-timers for Francis, Ennevor
Orville Clarke, Gleaner Writer

Title-chasing jockey Paul 'Country' Francis and veteran trainer Noel Ennevor posted three winners each at Caymanas Park yesterday, both teaming up to win the Eros Trophy grade-one feature over 1400 metres with 4-1 chance MEDICAL REPORT, this in a driving finish.

Francis also won the opening race over 1200 metres for native and imported three-year-olds with 9-5 chance SIR VALIANT for trainer Gresford Smith and the fifth aboard the 3-5 favourite KING OF THE TRACK (made all) for trainer Neive Graham.

In addition to MEDICAL REPORT, Ennevor posted 7-1 chance COUGWAY to win the second race and 4-5 favourite HOMBRE in the third for overnight allowance horses, both with Andre Martin aboard.

MEDICAL REPORT displayed good battling qualities once again to win the 11th running of the Eros Trophy by a length, in a driving finish, from 2-1 shot MUCHO GUSTO with Dane Nelson astride.

Prominent

As expected, the fleet-footed MR SKILL (13-1) made most ahead of GOOD CITIZEN (9-1), the 4-5 favourite AHWHOFAH under champion jockey Omar Walker, with MEDICAL REPORT racing prominently on the inside.

Getting the rail run into the straight, MEDICAL REPORT came through approaching the distance, outfinishing the ever-present MUCHO GUSTO on the outside to win by a length. MEDICAL REPORT, who finished behind AHWHOFAH and MUCHO GUSTO in his last three races, came back to turn the tables on both. But Francis had to ride the shirt off his back, so to speak:

"I've ridden him before and I can tell you, he's not an easy ride. He has a tendency to run out so I had to keep him in touch on the inside coming into the straight," said the former champion apprentice.

An eight-year-old bay gelding by the Medic out of Princess Ellen, MEDICAL REPORT is owned by Cleveland Mitchell and bred by Owen and Solomon Sharpe.
