With 15 days to go before the start of the annual Jamaica Jazz and Blues Festival, western Jamaica, in particular, the tourism capital, is in full gear and ready to party to likes of Erykah Badu, Billy Ocean and Gladys Knight, among others.

To get us in the mood, attorney-at-law Milton Samuda and the Jamaica Chamber of Commerce will host a stimulating symposium tagged 'Cerebral Jazz' at the Iberostar Resort at Rose Hall from January 25-27.

Topical issues

The symposium will address a variety of topical issues relating to the transformation of human capital; financial and risk management; optimal networking; the business of music and sports; the world economic order; marketing and branding; and trade and development.

Prime Minister Bruce Golding will be the keynote speaker at the opening ceremony of the symposium on the 25, and former Prime Minister P.J. Patterson will address the final day plenary session on Wednesday, January 27.
