The course is being conducted by the Mexican Olympic Committee under the auspices of the Pan American Sports Organisation. It is a part of the courses and seminars programme approved by the Pan American Olympic Solidarity Commission for 2009. National Olympic Committees (NOC) in the Americas are allowed to send one candidate.
Hyde, whose participation was facilitated by the Jamaica Olympic Association (JOA), will be exposed to a programme of high-level technical training. The course, which will include 30 and a half hours of instruction, will introduce the participants to new theories of coaching and advances of sciences applied to sports. Methodology will take up 70 per cent of the instruction while the remaining 30 per cent will focus on sports sciences.
