More of Davies ... are you mad?
The Editor, Sir:

I WONDER if there is some hidden agenda behind Dr Derick Stephenson's suggestion to use Dr Omar Davies' "wisdom" to fix the economy. He couldn't be serious. But then, maybe he is. After all, after 14 years of Dr Davies' brilliance, the economy could not have been better off and Jamaicans were foolish not to want 14 more years of his policies for themselves.

How silly of us not to appreciate Dr Davies' brilliant policies which led to the closure of businesses and factories and left many entrepreneurs crippled under his high-interest rate policies.

It was Davies' brilliant policies that caused many banks to fail and our economy to languish while others grew. He ran this country on expensive borrowed money and left us with a trillion dollars in debt. He borrowed expensive money to finance Highway 2000 and to pay civil servants.

With one million people squatting and possibly another million renting houses or 'kotching' with their parents or worse - living on the streets, how could Jamaicans not want more of Dr Davies?

I am, etc.,
