WESTERN BUREAU:

The lights of the city of Kingston beckoned magically, offering a spectacular view that many who watched from the thousands of feet up would 'die' for.

This formed part of the setting that Dollis Campbell selected for her birthday party in the upper St Andrew Smokey Vale home of her long-standing friend, Audrey Anderson.

With red being Campbell's favourite colour, Flair Magazine's phenomenal woman, donned red and white table cloths, thousands of red and gold pepper lights, bistro tables wrapped in gold, complemented by a picturesque rock-garden waterfall, dressed up with fresh ginger lilies.

Those who know this Piscean are aware that she sleeps, dreams and eats the coming of the month of March just so she can celebrate her life on Earth with friends and family.

The night of Saturday, March 28 was no different, and the party people who turned out paid tribute to a woman whom they described as one who gives altruistic service to her fellow men, breathes commitment daily and unpretentiously dedicates loyalty.

"Dollis is one of the most dependable persons you will ever have on your team," said Millicent Lynch in her tribute to the businesswoman.

"God made the sun shine and God gave me a beautiful daughter who brings that sunshine straight to my heart," said her doting mother, Ivy Williams.

Singer/businessman and fellow Kiwanian Maurice Henry serenaded her in song. Guests included Paulette Henry, Pearl and Edgar Abbott, Cheryl Poyser, Lorna Francis, Carrole Guntley, Claudette Kenlock, Marcia Wright, Charles Brown, Donnette Reece, Moveta Stair, Basil Phillips, Nurma James, Jodi Neil, Dr Milton Hardie, Dennis Morrison, Audrey Budhai, Leighton McCathy, Andrea C. Whyte, Bridgette Steel, Dudley Mae, Dr Edgar Abbott Jr, and Roy and Zelma Townsend.
