The Clarendon 4-H Clubs annual Parish Achievement Day and Expo at the Denbigh 4-H Training Centre on Wednesday turned out to be a hugely popular event.
A number of schools participated, including Foundation Preparatory, Four Paths Primary and Junior High, Denbigh High, Buttons and Bows, Osborne Store Primary, and Mount Airy.
Agencies and exhibitors included the Rural Agricultural Develop-ment Authority, Sugar Industry Research Institute, Ebony Park Heart Academy and the National Youth Service. Sponsors included Singer, First Caribbean International Bank, Kings Chemical Company Ltd, the Maxi Department Store, Digicel and Shim-Hue's Pharmacy.
Sue-Ann Ferguson and Michael Lewis of Denbigh High School were the Girl and Boy of the Year respectively.
There was also a banner competition and an environmental challenge, while the clubbites were judged on public speaking, agro-processing, project displays, floral arrangements, towel folding and Environmental Challenge.
Younger children were judged on their ability to identify seeds, care for plants, set a table, care and identify pets and recite.
