August Town's coach, Calvert Fitzgerald.
Despite registering their third consecutive victory in the Kingston and St Andrew Football Association (KSAFA)/Claro Super League competition, August Town's coach, Calvert Fitzgerald, was displeased about how his team went about its task.
August Town racked up an impressive 5-1 win over Mountain View, at the University of the West Indies (UWI) Bowl on Saturday.
They have now scored 17 goals in three matches so far this season, while conceding one.
Nicholas McCreath led the rout with a double for August Town, netting in the 33rd and 90th minutes, supported by strikers Donovan Hibbert in the seventh, Akeem Thenstead (29th) and substitute Shawn Henry (80th).
Mountain view's goal
Rolando Myers scored for Mountain View in the 17th minute.
Despite his team's victory, Calvert Fitzgerald, coach of August Town, which were demoted from the premier league last season, said he was not pleased with their performance.
"I think this is our worst game so far this season, because we weren't playing team football throughout the game," said Fitzgerald.
"I am pleased with the five goals, but I am not satisfied with our performance, because every one of the players were rushing to score goals and this messed up the team chemistry," said Fitzgerald.
Jahmiah Pettigrew, captain of Mountain View, said: "We played in patches, especially in our defence, because I don't think we kept our shape well and, as a result of this, we were bound to get hurt playing against a quality team like August Town."
He added: "I think we were playing well in the first half, but our concentration let us down and we just gave up some soft goals in the end."
In the day's other games, the Jamaica Defence Force, led by a hat-trick from Robert Wright (32nd, 44th, 57th) thrashed Maverley/Hughended 5-1, Cavalier edged Duhaney Park 2-1, Real Mona beat Constant Spring 3-1, Police National stopped Liguanea 4-2 and Santos and Bull Bay played to a 1-1 draw.
