Leaving the party
1 There is an old saying: 'You should always leave the party with the one who took you there'. Some are now saying that this should be the case with boards and other sensitive appointments. A year into the administration, people should not be sitting around waiting to be fired or asked to resign, but should have done so in a timely fashion to make way for new people.
Not confetti
2 Some are saying national awards are not confetti and should not be handed out in a willy-nilly fashion, but only after people have been tried and tested. To do otherwise risks bringing the honour into disrepute.
Skill shortage?
3 The question being asked by many is: Is there a shortage of qualified people who are prepared to serve?
No bailout
4 Rumblings abound that all is not well with some of the newly moneyed. Stories abound of unpaid bills. There is even talk that at least one creditor was offered real estate for an outstanding bill. And some are saying, expect no bailout!
Jingle Mail!
5 There is a new mailing system in town, and it has been dubbed, 'Jingle Mail'. So named, they say, as it is the sound of keys of SUVs and other autos being returned in the mail by delinquent owners trying to save face.
Step up
6 Some are saying the minister needs to step up to the task and avoid the tendency to engage in quarrels.
