The stage is set for today's big showdown in the Locker Room Sports Business House Senior League netball competition when defending champions General Accident battle Bank of Nova Scotia (BNS) in the final at the National Indoor Sports Complex at 6:45 p.m.

The game will be preceded by other finals. In the Senior 'B' title decider, RBTT entertain BNS 'B' at 5:30 p.m. In the Junior League final, Transport Authority of Jamaica entertain Aerotel at 2 p.m.

National Water Commission will face Appliance Traders Limited in the Intermediate 'A' final at 4:15 p.m., and Guardian will battle NEM Insurance in the Intermediate 'B' final at 3 p.m.

General Accident were beaten 37-34 by BNS in their last meeting two weeks ago. Despite the loss, Oberon Pitterson, player/coach of General Accident, remains confident.

"We are very confident because we have been there for quite a few years and we have the experience and we know what it takes to get the job done," said Pitterson, who is a former national coach.

"Our plan is to go out and win and we are prepared to go hard for the one hour," Pitterson noted.

She added that they have to make some adjustments and have also tried various combinations at practice.

Players healthy

"We are coming out on Saturday ready in full style and hopefully all our players are healthy and ready to go."

Pitterson also noted that they were not bothered by their recent loss to BNS.

"I think it was good for us to lose because, after the loss, we looked at ourselves and the mistakes we made and I think the team has recovered from this."

National centre Nadine Bryan, who was the leading scorer for General Accident in their defeat against BNS, is expected to remain as goal shooter.

When asked about their chances of repeating their victory, Winston Nevers, coach of BNS, said: "Yes, because we have been playing some good netball and we just want to bring it over into this game against General Accident."

Nevers, who is also the coach of Berger Paints Super League champions Jamalco, added: "I think it is going to be a very good final and I believe that the team that makes the least mistakes is going to win."

Nevers said their preparations have been going well and the players are ready and raring to go.

"We are confident but we know that General Accident is a very good team and they will be coming all out against us," he said.

BNS will rely heavily on their experienced trio of goal shooter Marsha Murphy, goal attack Viola Francis and goalkeeper Andrea Markland.
