Hinds gets West Indies recall

Hinds

Jamaica's Wavell Hinds, who last represented the West Indies in 2006, got a recall to the regional team now on tour in Australia, as last-minute replacement for Dwayne Bravo yesterday.

According to a West Indies Cricket Board release last night "... all-rounder Dwayne Bravo has been ruled out of the ongoing tour of Australia. Wavell Hinds, the Jamaican left-handed batting allrounder, has been named as the replacement."

The release added: "Bravo failed to recover from a finger injury and will not be able to participate in the limited-overs series, which will include five One-Day Internationals (ODI) and two T20 Internationals. He sustained a damaged right thumb last month and will require additional time to recover.

"He (Bravo) will return to Trinidad to continue his rehabilitation and is expected to be fit for the Digicel Series (West Indies v Zimbabwe), which starts on February 28.

The West Indies opens their tour today with a one-dayer against a Prime Minister's XI in Canberra. They will play five ODIs between February 7-19, and the T20 matches on February 21 and 23.
