United States midfielder DaMarcus Beasley's BMW car has been set on fire in Glasgow. The incident happened on Monday outside the Rangers player's home in the Scottish city. Beasley said yesterday on Twitter that "someone blew up my car". He added that he was "glad no one got hurt". Strathclyde Police says it is treating the incident as "wilful fire-raising" and that inquiries are ongoing. Rangers has described it as a "disturbing and deplorable incident".
Amla, Kallis tune up

Middle-order batsmen Hashim Amla and Jacques Kallis scored half-centuries yesterday as South Africa's two-day warm-up game against the Indian Cricket Board President's XI ended in a draw in the central city of Nagpur. Amla top-scored with 72 and Kallis made 63 before they both retired to provide the lower order some batting practice ahead of the opening Test that begins Saturday in Nagpur. Captain Graeme Smith (45) and his opening partner Ashwell Prince (42) were the other major contributors in South Africa's first-innings total of 354.
The Indian Cricket Board President's XI was bowled out for 318 on Tuesday and play stopped at the end of South Africa's innings.
Terry's time off

Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti is willing to give captain John Terry time away from the team if he needs to sort out issues regarding his private life. Terry, a married father of two, is facing intense media scrutiny after a report that he allegedly had a relationship with former teammate Wayne Bridge's ex-partner Vanessa Perroncel. Ancelotti said Tuesday that if Terry "needs a holiday, I will give him a holiday. If he doesn't need a holiday, then he will play against Cardiff".
Brothel sale
WELLINGTON, New Zealand (AP):
A New Zealand tae kwon do athlete who opened a brothel to fund his Olympic campaign is auctioning off the business and will use the proceeds to pay his way to overseas competitions, he said yesterday.
Logan Campbell, who finished in the top 16 in the featherweight division at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, was condemned by the New Zealand Olympic Committee (NZOC) when he opened a "high-class gentleman's club" in Auckland to finance future competition. The NZOC said such a business went against Olympic principles.
Campbell will sell the business on an auction website and hopes to raise US$210,000 towards the cost of his bid to represent New Zealand at the 2012 London Olympics. The business is listed on the New Zealand website Trademe with a $1 reserve.
Rematch

Get ready for the rematch: Serena Williams and Kim Clijsters will play each other in an exhibition at Madison Square Garden on March 1. The semi-final at the BNP Paribas Showdown for the Billie Jean King Cup will come less than six months after - and about a 10-mile drive from - their US Open semi-final, which ended abruptly with Williams' outburst at a line judge.
Clijsters went on to win the tournament. Williams later was fined a record $82,500 and placed on two years of probation at Grand Slam events. The other semi-final on March 1 pits Williams' sister Venus against reigning French Open cham-pion Svetlana Kuznetsova.
