Among his many achievements, Professor Rex Nettleford was one of the founding members of the International Development Research Centre based in Ottawa. Not only did his great intellect contribute to the enrichment of the Caribbean, his contributions benefited the entire world.

He was one of a kind and he will be missed. My deepest condolences to all Jamaicans and the Caribbean community.
