Carl Gilchrist, Gleaner Writer

The death toll from the November 30 accident between two commuter buses along the Llandovery main road in St Ann continues to rise with the police yesterday confirming two more deaths.

The police have identified the victims as 28-year-old Deepak Keswani, sales manager of River Oaks in St Ann, and 27-year-old Donshavin Parson, technician of Glendevon, Montego Bay, St James.

The two deaths bring to seven the number of persons who have died as a result of the accident.

Succumbed to injuries

Corporal Patrick Josephs of the St Ann traffic department told The Gleaner yesterday that the two succumbed to injuries while at the Kingston Public Hospital (KPH).

Meanwhile, the driver of one of the buses involved in the accident has been released from the St Ann's Bay Hospital.

Josephs said the driver, Martin Clarke of Runaway Bay, St Ann, was released yesterday. He said five other persons who were admitted to the hospital as a result of the accident were also sent home.

Josephs said it was too early to say if charges would be brought against Clarke as persons have not yet come forward with statements pertaining to the accident.

Three persons, including the driver of one of the buses, died on the night of the accident with a fourth dying the following day at the St Ann's Bay Hospital. A fifth person died the following Friday morning at the Cornwall Regional Hospital. Keswani and Parson died later that day at the KPH.
