Bolt makes the 'Best of Brand Jamaica'

Bolt lip-synchs Ludacris' Southern Hospitality.

Fabulous Jamaican art, creative fashion designs, exquisite apparel and high-quality processed goods were on show at the Best of Brand Jamaica reception, which was staged recently at the Gran Bahia Principe hotel in St Ann by Usain Bolt and Jamaica Trade and Invest (JTI/JAMPRO).

The likes of Kay Sullivan, Alphanso Blake, Sharon Fox-Mould and Viv Logan were among the artistes from the Visual and Performing Arts Jamaica Cluster, who displayed some 30 pieces of sculpture, floral, cultural and abstract art. Pulse models paraded in glamorous couture from leading local designers in the Jamaica Fashion and Apparel Cluster. Also on show was a wide range of processed goods.

The event attracted international celebrities who were in the island for Bolt's Super Party on December 5, such as US hip-hop artiste Ludacris and sprinter Wallace Spearmon. Among the members of the local entertainment fraternity who came to support Bolt were Ce'Cile, Christopher Martin, D-Major, Mystic, Denyque and ZJ Electra.

Entertaining acts

Denyque gave a lively performance and was joined by Bolt onstage. He rocked and swayed with Denyque, and after her performance, he took over the stage and entertained the crowd with hot dance moves. He lip-synched a few songs, one of them being Ludacris' Southern Hospitality. Ludacris was right on cue as he entered the event and enjoyed Bolt's homage to him, taking pictures and recording videos with his camera phone. He soon joined Bolt onstage and expressed his joy at being in Jamaica.

Bolt then enlisted the services of his friend, Spearmon, in a brief dance-off. Soon it was Mystic's turn to join Bolt and 'buss a move'. Christopher Martin briefly shared the stage with Bolt, and afterwards ZJ Electra took over the musical reins.

The objective of the reception to build a relationship between Bolt and JTI in the promotion of 'Brand Jamaica'.
