Newly crowned champions Scotiabank have received six picks on the JNBS/Western Sports Norman Goodison Inter-Bank All-Stars football team, following the just-concluded season.
They are goalkeeper Tavar McQueen, forwards Richard West (league's MVP) and Stephan Bartley (league's leading scorer), defenders Elgin Mitchell and Obrien Scott, along with midfielder Norwayne Knight.
A notable omission from the list is Scotiabank's ace striker, Nicholas McCreath.
According to Scotia's sports coordinator, Wayne Shaw McCreath, one of the top players for Scotiabank in both the Business House and Inter-Bank leagues did not meet the criteria for selection to the All-Stars team, having played only two matches - the semi-final and final - due to Premier League commitments with the August Town team.
Team complete
To qualify for selection, a player must have contested 50 per cent of the matches played by his team.
Completing the All-Stars team are goalkeeper Javon Spence (JNBS); defenders Mark Heslop and Rohan Tomlinson (RBTT); midfielders Marlon Smith, Kimaro Williams and Miame Cole (JNBS), Sean Mills (PanCaribbean), Rohan Findley (RBTT), George Smith (FCIB); and forwards Corey Mussington (RBTT), Mario Watt (FCIB) and St Matthew Anglin (PanCaribbean). The coach is Calvert Fitzgerald and manager is Diana Pollack, both from Scotiabank.
The announcement was made at the recent Inter-Bank football presentation at the Scotiabank Sports Club, Liguanea, by the president of the Inter-Bank Football Association, Livingston Morrison.
