Price laments faulty finishing

Boys' Town's four-match winning streak came to an end courtesy of the game's lone strike in the 85th minute by Marcelino Blackburn - his fifth in three games - which led Harbour View to a 1-0 victory in their Digicel Premier League encounter at Harbour View Mini Stadium.

Andrew Price, the coach of Boys' Town, is concerned with his team's failure to put away the many chances they are creating and believes they must become more clinical in front of goal.

Boys' Town, who currently sit fourth on 20 points, have scored 11 goals in 13 games, with their top marksman being Peter Keyes, who has found the back of the net on three occasions.

Several chances

"We have to learn to be very clinical and composed in front of goal when we get those chances and put them away. We got several chances and we could have really gotten away with a victory here today (Sunday), but it is one of those things, it is a learning curve," Price said.

"We have to continue learning and work on it for the next game. We are doing a lot of drills in training to work on our finishing and we just need the players to be composed when they are in front of goal, to put away the ball.

"It's going to come; we are getting ourselves in goal-scoring positions, so that must be encouraging. It is all about finishing."

Price added: "We are doing well defensively, we just need to put away the chances that we are getting."

The 'Red Brigade' played with 10 players for more than an hour as Fabian Watkins was dismissed by the referee in the 29th minute.

"We wanted to continue the winning streak but it was unfortunate, going down to 10 players. It was always going to be a very hard task against a very strong Harbour View team," Price said. "Despite that, we got several opportunities in time added on where we could have gotten a draw or put the game away."

Home record

Habour View's coach, Donovan Hayles, is hoping that his team will continue winning at home, after securing only one victory at home in the first round, while drawing three times and suffering one defeat.

"Our home record in the first round was very poor but lucky for us we had more away matches than home games, so one would hope, once we start tonight (Sunday) with three points here at Harbour View, that we will continue in this round in particular, where we have more home games than away games," Hayles said.

"This is the first step and it is a positive step coming into the second round," he added.
