Policy, not ego
Prime Minister Golding could not, on Sunday, resist his admonition against casting blame, or, like Lot's wife, looking back, at who caused Jamaica's economic crisis.

But he did not engage in past excesses and he did not continue in that folly of calling for some showpiece debate with the Opposition, which some would want as an egotist's spectacle of intellectual masturbation.

There is hard, serious business to attend to, for which Mr Golding says he wants the input of the Opposition. We need to get on with it.
