Immigrants' contribution
The Editor, Sir:

I read the Letter of the Day yesterday by Georgia Thompson titled 'UK targeting wrong immigrants' and I must agree with Ms Thompson. Britain's politicians and policy-makers are so bright, but are too blind to see the contributions that immigrants have been making to their economy.

Policymakers

They complain that immigrants are taking the jobs, yet the citizens there are not taking up these jobs. Some citizens turn up their noses at cleaning, farming, bar and other casual jobs, yet immigrants take them up gladly.

Britain's policymakers are lost, and the country is going to find itself in a position where it struggles to pay pensions and other benefits because they keep the immigrants out of the country, and the lazy citizens who they have are not working to contribute to the economy.

I am, etc.,
