The Grace Jamaican Jerk Festival held at Markham Park, Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on Sunday, was a hit.

Kenut 'Mr Spice' Briscoe entertained the crowd with his skilful peeling of fruits such as a pineapple and gobbling it all in two big bites. Christopher 'Johnny' Daley tickled patrons' funny bones with his humour. A fashion show titled "Bandana goes Bashment" showcased outfits from Kulture Klothes, a Miami Gardens boutique. The day was filled with lots of fun activities including the Digicel stilt-walkers who kept the crowd entertained.

Musical package

The concert which climaxed the event began on time and even before it started patrons laid out mats and portable chairs on the grass as they waited for the music. The musical package saw acts like Dean Frazer and Byron Lee's Dragonaires, Barbadian soca queen Alison Hinds, who heightened the tempo, sending the crowd wild as she worked the stage. The night ended on a high note as vendors packed it in and people stocked up on jerked meats before heading home.
