Noise Nightmare
The Editor, Sir:

Having been awakened yet once again, at 2:45 a.m. by a live deejay on Thursday, November 12, it occurs to me that the noise pollution laws are in desperate need of enforcement in Ocho Rios. Between various karaoke nights, live deejays and blasting music in general, I very much doubt anyone, tourist or resident, on the hill behind Ocho Rios gets one uninterrupted night's sleep.

What this does to productivity I can't begin to imagine. Operators of places of entertainment, let me assure you, whatever number of patrons you have at 1 a.m. is not going to change with your blasting everyone out of their sleep thereafter. A little consideration for those of us who have to get up early in the mornings to work for a living would be appreciated.

I am, etc.,
