FLAIR COUPLE - A memorable day in their lives
Latoya Grindley, Gleaner Writer

August 29 was indeed a happy day for the newly-weds, Derron and Gamila Seville.

They met 10 years ago, met while attending Wolmer's Boys' and Girls' schools. Starting off as total strangers, their relationship progressed over the years to best-friend status. Fulfilling the expectations of their mutual friends, they became a couple.

Convinced that they had found true love, on August 29, Derron Seville and Gamila Creary made the transition to husband and wife. Sharing the moment with close family and friends, the two reconfirmed their love for each other and expressed their commitment to their union through the exchange of vows.

From the lawns of City View in Smokey Vale, St Andrew, the decor consisted of beautiful tropical shades of green and orange with splashes of brown. It was the couple's intention to have a garden wedding, allowing guests to enjoy the celebration in a garden atmosphere in mid-summer afternoon.

Overlooking an amazing view of the city, the ceremony was quite intimate and short. Led by the Reverend Dave Spence, the two were in for a lesson in love as they were taught some of the basic rules for sustaining a marriage.

Following the ceremony, the newlyweds posed for photographs at the same location with the breathtaking view of the city serving as the perfect backdrop. While the cameras flashed, guests were treated to fruits (some coated in chocolate from the fondue available) and refreshments befitting the tropical theme.

Guests were later directed back to the spot where the ceremony had taken place, only to see a fabulous transformation. The lawn had been set up with tables laden with arrangements of flowers depicting the wedding's theme.

Master of ceremonies, Seymour Green, entertained the couple and their guests throughout the night. He kept the laughter consistent. In so doing, he made several requests for the very willing couple to participate.

The bride and groom, obviously basking in a very memorable day in their lives, gave guests a surprise. The two got loose on the dance floor to a musical medley including the hit Macarena. Safe to say, this was well received!
