I am beginning to think that the prime minister's 'Jamaica House Live' call-in programme is a joke.
The country is drowning in the shed blood of its slaughtered citizens; we are almost bankrupt; and we can't fix our roads or feed our people without buying basic food stuff from abroad, to name but a few of our ills. Yet, here we are, with one monthly opportunity to speak with our chief servant on important national matters, and what do we get?
Bland call-in programme
The prime minister hosting a bland call-in programme with individuals airing their personal problems and the PM encouraging the trend by making vacuous promises month after month, which he cannot keep.
The programme seemed such a good idea on the first airing but, to be honest, now, I get more from listening to 'Hot Line,' than I do from your phone-in programme, Sir.
I've tried calling, but without success. If I did get on, I would ask the prime minister: Are you proud of our burgeoning murder rate? If not, why aren't you taking more decisive action to do something about it?
While you 'fiddle-fuddle' on about the rate of homosexuality and abortion, which incidentally, are minor issues, the 'major issues' of crime and disgraceful public behaviour are pushing Jamaica further down the slippery slope to moral turpitude.
I am, etc.,
