SuperClubs kids awarded scholarships

SuperClubs Resorts recently awarded scholarship bursary awards to 41 students from several primary schools who are children of team members at all SuperClubs hotels in Jamaica.

The awards were based on their 2009 Grade Six Achievement Test (GSAT) results.

When the programme was created 10 years ago, SuperClubs was the first hotel group to offer such a reward to children of team members. Approximately $1 million was distributed to the students who were successful in the examinations to assist them with school expenses as they make the important transition to high school.

John Issa, chairman of SuperClubs, reiterated his company's contribution to mutually beneficial partnerships in communities which play a vital role of nation building through the residents and their children who attend schools consistently and ultimately maintain a high standard after successes in the GSAT examinations.

"We at SuperClubs are committed to supporting these students financially and emotionally, with the involvement and encouragement of their caregivers and teachers as they prepare to fulfil their individual dreams through a sound secondary education," Issa stated.
