The Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture has committed to a series of activities geared towards the revitalisation of National Heritage Week.

The activities, which kick-started on Sunday, will continue to October 19, the date which will be celebrated as National Heroes Day.

The final day of celebrations will include the National Honours ceremony on the lawns of King's House, a Heroes Day civic ceremony in all parish capitals and the National Heroes Day salute at National Heroes Park.

This year's celebrations fall under the theme 'Believe in Jamaica: Embracing our Heritage', and Olivia 'Babsy' Grange, Minister of Youth, Sports and Culture, says the main aim this year is the preservation of our emphasis on national pride and patriotism among the Jamaican people, especially the youth.

Grange is encouraging Jamaicans to visit a site in their parish in honour of Heritage Week, and noted that every location will have personnel to provide guided tours.
