CCC squad has nine Barbadians, three Jamaicans
BRIDGETOWN, Barbados (CMC):

Barbadians proliferate the Combined Campuses and College's (CCC) squad for the regional President's Cup, securing nine picks in the 14-man unit for the limited-overs tournament starting later this month in Guyana.

Player/coach Floyd Reifer is joined by Omar Phillips, Kurt Wilkinson, Nekoli Parris, Jamal Smith, Ryan Austin, Jason Bennett, Khismar Catlin and Kevin McClean as Barbadians in the squad for the one-week tournament, starting on October 28.

The squad is completed by Jamaicans Simon Jackson, Chadwick Walton and Gavin Wallace, Vincentian Romel Currency, and Trinidadian Kavesh Kantasingh.

Four players in the squad have West Indies senior-team experience, including veteran captain Reifer, plus Phillips, Austin and Walton, who have all featured this year in the West Indies makeshift team assembled to replace the top-flight players, who were unavailable because of a contractual dispute with the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB).

The CCC will play in Zone A with the defending champions, Trinidad and Tobago, Jamaica and Windward Islands, who they open against on Saturday, October 28.

Zone B comprises Guyana, Barbados, Leeward Islands and West Indies Under-19s.

CCC SQUAD: Floyd Reifer (captain), Omar Phillips, Romel Currency, Simon Jackson, Kurt Wilkinson, Nekoli Parris, Chadwick Walton, Jamal Smith, Ryan Austin, Jason Bennett, Khismar Catlin, Kevin McClean, Gavin Wallace, Kavesh Kantasingh.
