Taylor-Hull bridge?
The Editor, Sir:

Almost 30 years ago a sudden and unforeseen cloud burst occurred over the Corporate Area, creating swift and violent flooding.

The ford on upper Waterloo Road, without proper safety rails, was rapidly flooded with heavy torrents of water rushing with examine velocity.

This unexpected force of nature swept away a motor vehicle with impunity and Dr Cleo Taylor lost his family, and Mike and the late Yvonne Hull lost their daughter Bridgette.

The immense grief, distress and heartbreak will always remain with family and friends.

May I suggest to Minister Mike Henry, a man with a sense of history, that the bridge now under construction be named the Taylor-Hull bridge and monuments, appropriately worded, be strategically located at both ends of the structure.

Further, may I suggest that both fathers be invited to perform the formal opening of the bridge.

I am etc.,
