TVJ inks IAAF deal
Television Jamaica (TVJ) has secured the exclusive right to produce and market a Digital Video Disc (DVD) with highlights of the station's recent coverage of the 12th IAAF World Championships in Athletics, Berlin, 2009.

In a release on Friday, TVJ said the DVD will contain highlights of TVJ's broadcast of the individual performances of Jamaican medallists, Usain Bolt, Asafa Powell, Shelly-Ann Fraser, Veronica Campbell, Melaine Walker, Brigitte Foster-Hylton and others, and the performances of the Jamaican relay teams.

With this deal, TVJ has the exclusive right to distribute the DVD titled 'Pursuit of Gold: Jamaica's Magnificent Performance', in Jamaica, other English-speaking Caribbean territories and in various USA states and United Kingdom cities in which large numbers of Jamaicans reside. Overseas distribution locations include California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York and London.

TVJ's General Manager, Kay Osborne, said: "TVJ is delighted to announce this agreement which is indicative of the confidence that international partners, such as the IAAF, have in TVJ's ability to produce and market televised material with world-class production values. The production and sale of the World Championships DVD is a natural extension of TVJ's memorable Pursuit of Gold coverage to which more than 100 skilled and talented TVJ team members contributed."
