THE ST ANDREW Central Police have started a drive to clear the roads of annoying window wipers and bus loaders.

During several operations in the Half-Way Tree and Matilda's Corner areas of St Andrew last week, 20 persons, including four children, allegedly caught wiping windows or loading buses, were arrested and charged for breaching the Town and Communities Act.

According to the police, the children are to be placed before the courts for being in need of care and attention.

Action is also being contemplated against the parents and/or guardians of the arrested children.

The police say they will be conducting further operations of this nature at other locations in the Corporate Area to rid the roads of persons who have been harassing motorists and pedestrians.
