MoBay in need of bus shelters
THE EDITOR, Sir:

MONTEGO BAY and its environs, including Cornwall Courts, Green Pond and Salt Spring among many other communities, need to have proper bus shelters erected at strategic locations.

The St James Parish Council, the National Works Agency, Western Parks and Markets, just to mention a few government entities, should intervene at this time and give support to this venture. The wider business community, particularly the tourism sector, should also play a part, considering that hundreds of tourism workers reside in Montego Bay and surrounding communities.

Mr Editor, if one is at a bus stop in downtown Montego Bay or at Cornwall Courts for that matter, and there is a sudden shower of rain, he or she is bound to be drenched.

This means the relevant authorities need to build proper bus shelters in order to help restore the civic pride that Montegonians cultivate.

I am, etc.,

Valentine Pearson
