My daahlings, it is that time of the year again, Emancipation, as well as Independence celebrations, as Jamaica marks its 47th year of independence from its colonial master, Britain. It's also that time of the year when the fab crowd goes apartying and, luvs, no party is as anticipated as the annual birthday celebration of jurist and political power-player, Harold Brady.

So it is my dears the invites are out and the hot people have confirmed their attendance and, pumpkins, it promises to be a blast and then some with the upscale Cherry Gardens enclave promising never to be the same after this weekend's expected smasheroni!

Dears, wait for it as more definitely anon! Speaking of fab people and their birthdays, happy birthday wishes to the enigmatic Julia Lowe, who is celebrating her birthday today.

The fabulous Alex Ghisays of Couples Resorts celebrate her special day tomorrow, August 1, as will Matt Gross in New York and Rick Saager, in Connecticut.

The lovely Jacqui Tyson will celebrate her special day on Monday, the 3rd.

Nadine Willis to wed

General manager of the Pegasus hotel Eldon Bremner; multi-talented musician Wayne McGreggor; and modelling sensation Nadine Willis; will all celebrate birthdays on Wednesday, August 5, with the word being that the very charming Nadine Willis is all set to tie the marital knot this here very day, Friday, the 31st, to her beau, Christopher Wilson, days ahead of her birthday in a very intimate ceremony at the tres chic, and, oh so very fab Breezes Runaway Bay Resort and Golf Club. With word being the bridal shower was hosted at the Jamaica Pegasus hotel on Tuesday night of this week and had in attendance the who's who of fab society in attendance!

Belated greetings to Akil Campbell, who celebrated his birthday on Wednesday, July 29 with the partying in Raleigh, North Carolina, as did Renford Davey, who celebrated his 50th and the charmingly fab Pam Lawson of the Jamaica Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.

A special belated cheer to the lovely Miranda Ragbeir, who celebrated her birthday on Tuesday the 28th.

Belated wishes also to CVM's Michael Pryce, who celebrated his birthday last week!

Best wishes all around with Champagne toasts and Beluga treat y'all.

Then, my daahlings, the rush is on, as it's all about being out of town for the young at heart and the party-hearty this coming week.

Dears, Red Stripe is promising to make it one unforgettable week of parties and more parties and luvs, with all the fab villas and fun resorts already near booked to capacity, y'all know Negril is bursting at the seams and then some!

Then, it's off to St Bart's for Kingston's ruling denizens of fine style and grand doos as socialite and pre-eminent jurist Chris Bovell and his darling wife, socialite extraordinaire, Michelle Bovell; and longstanding friends Anthony Watson, and his fabulous wife, Jeanne Watson, jet off to the isle of the rich and famous for a summer holiday!

It's London for the summer then on to Lagos, for Betty Delfosse-Ingleton.

The lovely Moya Baston popped in from Dubai, for a few days of R&R last week and was spotted sunning it all on the beaches over there in fabulous Negril.

Also spotted in Negril last week was New Yorker Bren-Ann Chin.

My dears, the international critics continue to rave about one of the hottest wine bars and restaurants to be found anywhere in the world, the Cecile Levee, brainchild, Wine With Me Wine Bar and Restaurant, on the Hip-Strip in Montego Bay, is currently the rave on Twitter and little wonder here, as not only does it boast the best wine cellar this side of any wine country, the food is not only to die for, it is art, and some masterpieces no less!
