... A good idea
The Editor, Sir:

In the Saturday, July 25, edition of The Gleaner, in a letter titled 'More questions for the prime minister', Dr Derick Stephenson suggested that Dr Omar Davies be asked to take over as minister without portfolio in the Ministry of Finance.

Many people, as the good Stephenson said, will frown at this suggestion, however, clearly he is thinking outside the box and away from politics as usual. His suggestion is worthy of consideration.

It might not be a good idea for those who espouse support and benefit from lifelong political tribalism or those who would suffer bruised egos, but I say that the country would be better off.

I think also that Dr Christopher Tufton and Roger Clarke should team up in the Ministry of Agriculture. Both men have much to offer the agricultural field in general.
