WESTERN BUREAU:

Only eight months since its official opening, the Twisted Kilt Sports Bar on Montego Bay's famed Hip Strip is fast becoming one of the top hang-out spots in the western city.

A one-of-a-kind in Montego Bay, Twisted Kilt operates under an Irish theme and this, according to managing director Andre Dixon, sets it apart from other bars. In addition, it is an authentic sports bar as it is dedicated to showcasing all sporting events.

Suitable environment

The inviting hang-out spot has an environment suitable for any mood or occasion. People have the option of dining in an air-conditioned area - welcomed at this time of year - or the choice of chilling on the patio. There is also the option to relax at the beach.

For martini lovers, Twisted Kilt has a daily offering of two-for-one specials and more than a dozen varieties of martini. The most popular is the Chocolatini.

The unique bar has what Dixon describes as an "eclectic" offering of international menus, three of which feature Irish dishes, and quality hamburgers made with 100 per cent certified Angus beef.

So, if you're looking for quality beverages, in a relaxing venue during The Gleaner-sponsored Bar Week, the Twisted Kilt is a smart choice.
