Did you know Jamaica plays home to the biggest Margaritaville in the world? And it's not the one on the Hip Strip in Montego Bay. In February 2002, Margaritaville Ocho Rios opened, bringing the magic of 52 flavours of margaritas and the eternal happy-hour philosophy, "It's five o'clock somewhere," notes Tresha Robbins Margaritaville's director of marketing. Boasting three bars, the most special of which is a swim-up bar you can get to via the 100-foot waterside that takes you to the pool. The 12,000 square-foot property holds close to 2,000 people, 450 seated. Margaritaville Ochi is famous for its Wet 'N' Wild Wednesday nights - all-you-can-drink from 9 p.m. to midnight - and Smirnoff Saturdays (women free before 12 p.m.) which draw crowds of up to 800 people for hotshot DJs like Colin Hines and Code Red.

Opening at 11 a. m., or earlier if there's a cruise ship, you get the tropical resort without the hotel. However, they do have a shuttle service with Jamaica Grande, to take you back after a night of beach debauchery or seaside dinner.
