Shanoya Brissett of Warsop All-Age School in Trelawny is a born leader, says her teacher Erna Smith.
"She is just an adorable child without the challenges that affect adolescents," Smith told The Gleaner.
Shanoya, an aspiring bank manager or pharmacist, will be attending Westwood High School for Girls in September.
"I set my mind on being at the top. Therefore, I had to study hard," she told The Gleaner.
Shanoya also participated in extracurricular activities and was a member of the school's netball team, and was a Brownie.
Acting principal, Laurett Hutchinson, noted that Shanoya was a student who needed few instructions.
"I recall on many occasions where I have had to address the class and get their full attention, I would ask that all books be closed and, while she would comply, a finger would be placed at the page she was working on for a quick recall to what she was doing after I have finished speaking," shared Hutchinson.
Shanoya attends the Warsop Baptist Church in Trelawny and lists her hobbies as reading and writing.
