Blind, even-handed justice
We choose to believe that the Constant Spring police were all along properly investigating an incident last month and that their response to this newspaper, as published yesterday, was honest and genuine.

If that is true, the letter that appeared in this newspaper yesterday from the parents of the three young men who were horribly injured in the June 27 altercation along the Constant Spring Road would represent a misunderstanding rather than, as they believe, an attempt by law-enforcement personnel to sweep the matter under the carpet.

Impartial justice

The point is, we subscribe to the notion and ideal of blind, impartial justice - one oblivious to status or power.

We are confident, therefore, the scepticism of 'Anguished Parents' notwithstanding, that the police will conduct a full and fair investigation and will, in the end, do what is right by the law - whomever it favours.
